As they arrive back at Lestat's lair, Armand is almost completely healed. He tries to reach out to both Gabrielle and Lestat. He longs for their love and companionship. He seeks to form a new coven with them, but they refuse. Armand's defeat with his coven has left him feeling lost. He attempts to manipulate them by telling them that he has the answers they seek. They find out that he does not.
