Lestat and Gabrielle continue to sit in the cathedral and decide what to do. They know that the vampires outside can hear their thoughts so they close their minds to them to keep them shut out. The others are trying vainly, to get them to come out and surrender. This they will not do. Lestat knows from reading their thoughts that Nicholas is still alive and is being used as bait to bring him in. After several moments, one of the vampires, Armand, enters the church to bring them out. They fight with each other for some time before.....
