Part 3, Chapter 2 Summary

When he wakes up, Lestat realizes that he can no longer read Gabrielle's mind. She, on the other hand, is totally transformed by the process. As they were left alone for so long, others started knocking on the door. In order to make a quick getaway, Lestat and Gabrielle sneak out through a window. They escape into the night and Lestat stays with her throughout her mortal death and explains that it is part of the process of becoming immortal. While they move through the night, they both pick up a sense of the presence that has plagued Lestat. Gabrielle hears the voices of the presence calling them outlaws. She knows right away.....
