Part 2, Chapter 12 Summary

Dressed as though going to Court, Lestat arrives at the theatre and is welcomed by the warm embraces of those he know as a mortal. When Lestat sees Nicki he is attracted to him as a vampire is attracted to any mortal. He wants to drink his blood. Nicki however, is very angry with Lestat for leaving in the first place. In an unplanned stunt, Lestat takes off onstage and performs an acrobatic number that confuses the audience. They do not understand how he moves the way he does. He scares them to the point where they flee the theatre. One man remains in the stands and points a gun at Lestat and shoots him. Nicki, who is standing close by, sees Lestat get.....
