Summary

The statues fly the group into San Francisco where they decide to try and find Nereus just like Apollo recommended earlier. Percy finds him, but he tries to escape into the sea. Percy is stronger there thanks to his powers and manages to capture Nereus, getting one question. He’s tempted to ask about Annabeth, but instead asks about the creature that Artemis was looking for. It turns out that the creature was the serpent cow that Percy had rescued earlier. He explains how he saved it to the group, and Zoe recognizes that the serpent is actually an Ophiotaurus. Legend has it, that whoever sacrifices it will have the power to destroy gods, which must be why the General and the Titans want it.
