Summary

In Chapter 25, Magnificent says Glory can probably “have a turn at being queen” (182). Glory says she wants to be the only queen. Magnificent seems confused. Glory cites the rule in other tribes – a challenge is issued and the queen and challenger fight to the death. Magnificent calls it a “barbaric” practice. Glory counters, saying it is barbaric to abandon RainWings. Magnificent predicts the RainWings would never follow a dragon who became queen through violence. Glory suggests Magnificent should “lie around and do nothing” (183) while Glory takes over. An old dragon named Handsome says there is a “legend” about those who wanted to be queen participating in a contest. The queen chooses the contest. Magnificent says it “sounds exhausting” but agrees.
