During his working hours, Cross concentrates on the Jack and Jill case, but in his off hours he works the Truth School killings. As part of the investigation, Cross interviews Christine Johnson. Cross likes Christine, likes that she is smart, and likes that she lives in a prosperous neighborhood but still works in his neighborhood. Cross likes everything about Christine except for the fact that she is married. Across town that same night, Jack arrives at an exclusive hotel room and kills a famous actor who is visiting the area.
