Jon Snow

Jon Snow is the illegitimate son of Eddard Stark (deceased). He has a direwolf, Ghost. He is hated by Chett because Snow helped Sam Tarly take Chett's position as steward to Maester Aemon. He is captured by the wildings and brought before Mance Rayder, king of the wildings. He convinces the wildings he wants to join them because his father did not respect him as much as his legitimate children. He is accepted by the wildings.

Jon Snow observes the wilding forces as they travel to the Fist of the First Men. When they arrive, Mance Rayder questions Jon about the forces at the fort, and Jon tells him the truth.
