Chapter 77, Jon Summary

Jon Snow and Satin, a trainee of the Night's Watch, are practicing when Melisandre comes. She says Stannis wants to see Jon. Stannis tells him he does not believe Jon is a traitor, since he knows how Janos is and how Eddard, Jon's father, was in regards to their true natures. He says Jon was the one who gave Sam the dagger that killed the Other, and who got the Horn of Winter and captured Mance Rayder's son. Jon thinks he did not have much to do with this directly. Stannis asks Jon if Mance and the wildings can be honorable, and Jon says yes.

Stannis tells Jon he wants him to be loyal to him and be the new Lord of Winterfell. Since Roose Bolton was named Warden of the North, Stannis needs a loyal man in that area. Jon...
