Chapter 71, Tyrion Summary

Tyrion considers confessing his guilt and joining the Night's Watch, but he is not sure he father will agree. It is time for the last day of his trial, and Shae is the last one to testify against him. She lies to the court that she heard Sansa and Tyrion plotting to kill Joffrey, and that Cersei, Twyin, and Tommen would be killed by them next so Tyrion could be King. Tyrion ca not take it and shouts that he did not kill Joffrey, and demands trial by battle. The battle between Ser Gregor for Cersei and Prince Oberyn for Tyrion will take place the next day.

Prince Oberyn meets with Tyrion that night and tells him more about the treachery of his family. Their mothers were supposed to have Jaime wed Elia and Cersei wed Rhaegar, but after Tyrion's mother...
