Chapter 16, Jon and Chapter 17, Sansa Summary

Jon Snow observes the wilding forces and they travel to the Fist of the First Men. The wildings have mammoths and giants in their forces. Ygritte has made it clear she is interested in Jon, but he does not want to do anything with her because he does not want to father a bastard. When they arrive, Mance Rayder questions Jon about the forces at the fort, and Jon tells him the truth. The forces are all gone, most of the Night's Watch killed in the battle with the Others.

Mance says he understands why the wildings were not attacked as they approached the fort. Rattleshirt wants to kill Jon now, but Jon is saved by Ygritte, who tells them she and Jon are lovers. The men believe her, although Rattleshirt is still antagonistic. Mance...
