Unconditional Love

The determination of the fictional characters of Buddy, Trent, and Hannah to always be there for CJ even though she does not always embrace, or know about, their love for her illustrates the existence of unconditional love and that it is something that both animals and humans can give. These fictional characters also show that different motivations may drive the givers of unconditional love. One source of motivation originates from their species. Another source of motivation depends on their relationship with the person they love.
