The Pumpkin

Jen carves a pumpkin that is a symbol of the Halloween season. She does not want to do this, and the fact that she does is a symbol of her feeling that she has to do what is expected. When she later finds the pumpkin whole, it becomes a symbol that time is moving backwards. It is much later when she realizes that actions like carving that pumpkin just because it is expected are a waste of time.
