Summary

In Chapter 22, only months after Lily's death, Ben and Malabar got married. Meanwhile, Adrienne grew closer to Margot. Margot said her mother did not know how to care for her either. Adrienne defended Malabar. Margot encouraged her to do everything to make her own life better. Adrienne began seeing a psychiatrist, Dr. B. With Dr. B.'s help Adrienne considered Malabar's impact on her life. Yet, her depression continued in severe waves of highs and lows. Dr. B. prescribed a series of pills. She also helped Adrienne envision the life she wanted for herself. Eventually, Adrienne's medications made her suicidal. Dr. B took her off the antidepressants. Adrienne moved to New York City and began a long-distance marriage with Jack.
