Chapter Fourteen Summary

Adam has her cornered in the car, but Sarah flips on the microphone switch. Adam does not realize that everything he is saying to Sarah is being transmitted. As Sergeant Hardison approaches the car, Adam tells Sarah to roll down the window and demand him to throw her the keys. Sarah talks him down and Adam drops the knife just before the police close in, afraid of witnesses to his crime. Sarah is pulled from the car and safe. She runs to her mother. Later, police find Rosa exactly where Sarah says she is buried. Sarah tells them to rebury Rosa on consecrated ground. She is free from her ordeal, and decides to call Dee Dee.
