Chapter Nine Summary

Mom is slightly concerned about Tony and tells Sarah that she and Dad want to meet him before they go out again. Mom has signed the family up for a membership at the community swimming pool, but Sarah is not ready to swim yet. The next day Dee De comes over and invites them to the pool. Sarah relunctantly goes but is uncomfortable and doesn't want to swim. When Mom wants to stay and swim longer Sarah decides to walk home. When she arrives Dinky bursts out of the house, upset. Sarah goes to the kitchen to get water and hears someone moving overhead. She calls the police and tries to exit the house through the back door, but it has been locked and the key taken. Sarah makes a run for her parents' room to hide, but has no time...
