Summary

In Chapter 26, Alex does not return to the library though she will soon have to go there for Mrs. Gyzinska to proctor one of Alex's correspondence course tests. She discovers that Sister Kevin is missing from the office one day. The woman manning that desk says Sister Kevin is probably fine, has probably gone to do charitable work without telling anyone, and is “just … flighty.” Alex continues to find flyers about the Wyvern Research Collective, but with no contact information. Alex wonders how Mrs. Gyzinska knew about Marla. One day, Mrs. Gyzinska arrives at Alex's apartment around midnight. Alex is surprised because she thinks no one – including school officials – knows about this apartment. Mrs. Gyzinska apologizes for upsetting Alex.
