Chapter Two Summary

After finally escaping from the complaints of her staff, Venetia decides to go pick some blackberries to make bramble jelly with. She puts on clothes to work in - nothing pretty or nice, and heads towards the Priory, where there is a blackberry patch that Venetia knows of.

Venetia sets out without an attendant, something that is not done by most ladies in polite society, but Venetia prefers it this way. On her walk, she is accompanied only by Aubrey's rambunctious spaniel, Flurry. Venetia enjoys these walks alone, with no complaints from staff or other tedious worries.
