Summary

In Chapter 50, William discovers a wagon with two Union men driving. He believes they will help him. He excitedly shares how he needs to find Jacob, but the men laugh at him and call him the n-word. They accuse him of being a deserter. They tell him to get in the back of the wagon and that they are going close to Algiers.
