Summary

In Chapter 13, Immanuelle came out of the catacombs and ran into Judith. Judith insulted her and accused her of lying about why she was there. Immanuelle told her she was the liar. Suddenly, a servant arrived and told Judith her husband wanted to see her.

In Chapter 14, Immanuelle met Ezra outside the Haven. He asked to take her home in his horse-cart. They planned to meet the next day at the well to go inside the Darkwood together. She asked him why his father had asked for all the names of Bethel’s females. He said it was believed that a curse can only come from a woman—a witch.
