Summary

In Chapter Eight, Immanuelle woke up from a nightmare about the Dark Mother and heard a strange noise coming from the Darkwood. She found Delilah, the Witch of the Water, and was coerced into a lake. Immanuelle swam out and found Lilith. She thought Lilith would kill her, but instead Immanuelle started her period. She ran home, terrified.

In Chapter Nine, Immanuelle woke up on her kitchen floor early in the morning. She washed up before her family got up, then told them she had finally bled. They celebrated and she went to herd the sheep. Ezra arrived and apologized to her for the incident with Judith. He gifted her the book of poetry she had been admiring. They heard a scream and ran to see Glory, who was holding a bucket full of blood she had just pulled from the fresh well...
