Chapter 15 Summary

Milo reads Raymond's article on the outlaw which was in the folder Mrs. Crider gave him. The article discusses outlaws in general and Dalton Kimbrough in particular. Milo is familiar with the story of Dalton Kimbrough because his great-grandfather killed Kimbrough during a robbery attempt and then grew the family fortune from his fame. This article leads Milo to think about his family, his father in particular. Milo thinks of the accident that killed his father and realizes his father was too careful with guns to have such an accident. For the first time, Milo realizes his father did commit suicide as people have long suspected. At the same time, Milo realizes why Raymond cut his hair and shaved his beard in the final days of his life and why the death of Willy Jones hit him so hard. Milo believes that Raymond...
