Summary

In Chapter 4, Whistledown notes that she does not have a full account of what happened near the Serpentine in Hyde Park, but she understands that Anthony, Nigel, Kate, Edwina, and a dog were involved.

Mary ordered that Kate take Newton for a walk and suggested that Anthony go with her. She pointed out they might meet Edwina as they were walking. Kate wondered about Mary’s intentions. Anthony, meanwhile, realized how content he felt walking with Kate. When he looked at Kate and saw that she had her face turned up to the sun, he was surprised when he felt what appeared to be desire for her. He took a deep breath hoping it would clear his head. Instead, he got a whiff of her scent, lilies and soap.
