Summary

In Chapter 15, Magister commands Jonathan to write, but Jonathan refuses. Magister sinks him into the floor to the basement. Magister wants Bethany to help him give the characters in all the books the freedom to live their lives as they want by freeing them all from their books. Kiel urges Magister to calm down. There is a copy of the new Kiel Gnomenfoot book open in the room. Bethany inches near, hoping to shove Magister in, but he begins to sink her into the floor. He says he can take Bethany's power and begin freeing the characters himself, but he wants her to give it willingly.

Chapter 16 reverts to Owen's perspective. He and Charm are being attacked by robots. Owen rushes to the spell book in search of a spell that will save them. He takes time to notice that Charm is pretty...
