Summary

In Chapter 27, Bret took half a Quaalude before he went to school on Tuesday. He and Thom talked in the parking lot about what happened to Terry. Debbie said her father had no memory of the accident.

Thom approached Bret during P.E. He asked Bret if he knew that Susan went to Palm Springs over the weekend. Thom said she never told him she was going and only called him once during the entire week. Bret told Thom that Robert was in Palm Springs also, but left Thom to put the pieces together.

Bret relays that Thom finally made the connection at lunch that day. Thom interrupted the conversation and told Robert that he knew Robert was in Palm Springs with Susan. Susan calmed Thom by telling him she thought they needed to hang out after school.
