Summary

In Chapter 17, the week after the party, Bret and his group of friends took Robert to the Jonathan Club, a prestigious invitation-only beach club, after school.

The parking lot of the club was nearly empty and the valet explained some members of the cult, The Riders of the Afterlife, had been breaking in. They also harassed the members while they were on the beach and as they were in the parking lot.

It was cold that day. Bret noticed that Thom and Susan were barely talking to each other. He sensed something had happened between them. Robert was the first one to leave. Susan and Debbie suggested they go home as well about 10 minutes later.

Bret went into the locker room alone to take a shower. He heard noises and called for Robert, but no one answered. Bret walked into the toilet area...
