Percy Jackson

This character is the main protagonist in the story. Percy is short for Perseus, a name that his mother gave him in the hopes that he would inherit the luck and long life that Perseus had. Percy Jackson is in the seventh grade and leads a fairly normal life while at school but is in continual danger because he is a demigod, half god and half man. Percy's mother is a human and is seen only shortly in the story, and his father is Poseidon of the sea. Poseidon does not truly appear in the story, he is only described one time when Percy is having a dream about his father.
