Summary

In Chapter 13, as Frankie ran along the Promenade Trail, she thought that her father would be laughing at her, blaming her for Brynn and Monica’s deaths, if he were still alive. She was haunted also by the last email she got from the Night Bird telling her that he wanted to watch her die. Frankie was so distracted that she did not notice that she recognized a man sitting on one of the benches until she was past him. It had been five months since she had worked with Todd. When she asked how he was he said he was not good. She tried to get him to make an appointment to see her but he refused. He did not want her taking notes about what he was going to tell her. Frankie sensed their meeting was not accidental and Todd confirmed...
