Summary

Chapter 9

Piper uses her dagger to see visions of what is going on back at New Rome. She can see Octavian whipping the crowd into a frenzy, trying to get them fired up for marching to war with the Greeks. The vision starts to shift and she soon sees a road sign in Topeka. Her visions are interrupted when the others return with the supplies to fix the ship. It takes a few hours, but with the new materials Leo is able to fix the ship and get it running again, declaring afterwards that they should have a meeting to discuss what to do next.

The group discusses the prophecy and what happened in New Rome. Piper wants to go back and try to explain what happened, but Annabeth dissuades her, pointing out that they have no proof, and even if they did...
