Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is the main setting for the novel. The novel is set in the 1950s, and the descriptions of the city seem appropriate for that time setting. There are several specific settings in the city that are important to the story, but there are also many incidental settings, including the state capitol building and adjacent historical museum. Most are described in detail. There are also some important settings that are not easily identified.
