Summary

In Chapter 10, Grady stays under the bed for another half hour, emerging to find Hugh, Danny, and Big Dan watching a ball game on TV. Danny talks casually with Hugh, and Hugh seems relieved when Grady joins the conversation. A newscast breaks in with more information from the big game hunter about the dangerous leopard. Big Dan predicts the leopard is scared and does not really pose a danger to people. Frank and Emmett return as Hugh is leaving. Both drunk, they invite Hugh to join them on a leopard hunt the following day. He declines. They say Danny and Grady should come. Bethie refuses outright.
