Summary
The man’s feelings of unease did not go away and he spent the first few days of the trip constantly on edge, imagining at any moment someone would come up to him and explain that there had been a mistake and they had not meant to invite him. This did not happen. Instead, his hosts told him that there would be no limits or constraints placed on him during the trip, that the translator and the driver were entirely at his disposal, and he was free to do whatever he wished, as long as he immortalized the experience of being in Extremadura in writing in whatever way he deemed fit.
