Summary

Malachi swiftly settles into life on Chicken Hill and begins baking challah for Chona, who finds herself miraculously cured. The challah tastes disgusting but indeed appears to work magic. Unfortunately, the neighborhood is disinterested in eating Malachi’s baked goods because they are so poorly made. When Malachi finally comes to Moshe to ask for advice about this, Malachi speculates that Black people are the source of all suffering in America. He informs Moshe that he wants the bakery sold and disappears for three years.

One day, Nate approaches Moshe and asks if he can get Moshe’s blessing to start bringing Dodo to work with him. He also asks Moshe whether he can hide Dodo in the basement of the theater so he will not be taken away by the government Moshe agrees to let Dodo stay in the theater...
