Summary

In Chapter 15, Deka and her friends go to the library on their first day off to look at the Heraldry of Shadows. However, when they find it, Deka discovers that there is only a short paragraph on her mother inside saying that she retired early for personal reasons. Disappointed, Deka and her friends head back to their room, but Deka spots a group of deathshrieks sneaking over the walls. The deathshrieks kill Deka’s friend, Katya, who bleeds the blue blood that indicates her final death. Deka uses her superpowers to send the deathshrieks away. Keita and Thandiwe both see Deka use her powers.

In Chapter 16, Keita tells Deka he saw what she did to the deathshrieks. He suggests they partner up and start training her exceptional powers in secret.
