Summary

In Chapter 25, Zus is gone before Yona wakes the next morning but is warm toward her when they meet. They agree they are putting themselves at risk by attacking the Germans, but they also agree it is necessary. Rosalia says this is their chance to “stand up for those who are not here anymore to stand up for themselves” (324). Yona is worried about this attitude even as everyone names some of the people they have lost. They walk for a day, sleep, then walk several more hours. They hide in the forest until midnight before stationing themselves along a road. They agree to choose their target carefully. It has to be a single truck, large enough to carry supplies with few soldiers in sight. Zus sets up the plan. Rosalia and some others will shoot out the tires of the truck they choose...
