Summary

Chapter 34 briefly focuses on Floyd on the day that he and Lupita encountered each other, about two years after Floyd and Jackie’s wedding. Chapter 35 shits focus to Jackie in the present day. Following her encounter with Dana, Jackie is unsure if she wants to reconcile with Dana. Jackie tries to tell herself that Dana is a dishonest, meddling person who is trying to deceive Jackie with lies about Floyd, specifically that Floyd was sexually unfaithful to Jackie. The story then flashes back to the Fourth of July about two years after Jackie and Floyd’s wedding. Jackie was pregnant again, but she had not yet told Floyd. The narration then provides a brief summary of Jackie and Dana’s emotional distancing from each other during the time of Jackie and Floyd’s engagement and wedding.
