Summary

In Chapter 22, Dana begins with a vague description of Dana awaking in an unfamiliar place and meeting with a man in a nearby diner. The narration slowly reveals that the man is Hap. Hap arranged the meeting. Dana has not seen Hap in person since he was an infant. Dana occasionally saw photos of Hap from throughout his life. The narration gives a quick summary of some of Dana’s life experiences, many of which involved traveling the world and having romantic relationships with men and women.

In Chapter 23, Jackie visits the house where her parents used to live. It is now empty. Dana is the owner of the house, but she does not use or maintain it. Jackie did not want to sell the house to Dana, but she needed to in order to cover personal debts and expenses. The narration flashes back...
