Summary

Chapter 29 shifts focus back to Jackie in the present day. She is leaving Edgeweather after briefly conversing with Dana, but the novel does not reveal the specific content of their conversation. The narration only states that their conversation pertained to Floyd. Jackie has decided to once again cut personal ties from Dana. Jackie recalls how, when she and Floyd were preparing for marriage, she often ignored Dana, as she took Dana’s friendship for granted.
