Ashlyn Greer

Ashlyn Greer is one of the main protagonists of the novel. Ashlyn works in a used bookstore, An Unlikely Story. A purveyor of rare books, Ashlyn enjoys collecting and perusing old and vintage books. Because of her love of books and the need for an extra income to supplement her book sales, Ashlyn also works as a bookbinder, restoring old and damaged books. Ashlyn inherited the store from the owner, Frank, with whom she developed a close relationship as a teenager. Frank taught her all she knows about selling and restoring old books.

Ashlyn spends the story processing a great deal of trauma, something which informs her interactions with the other characters in the novel. Ashlyn’s parents died in high school.
