Summary

In Chapter Seventeen, Lily wondered about what the viewers thought about the contestants. She despised Tom and thought his behavior throughout had been harmful, but she suspected the fact he was still on the show implied that he was popular with at least some of the audience. Lily offered to cook a steak dinner for Tom in exchange for him boarding up a broken window. He agreed. Over dinner, Tom revealed that prior to joining the show he had been fired from his job over anger management issues and his ex-girlfriend had obtained a restraining order against him. Lily revealed that she had nearly lost her job selling makeup at a department store because management thought she was stealing. However, it turned out that no money was missing, she was just so bad at math that she had been cashing up...
