Summary

In Chapter One, protagonist Lily woke up in the bedroom of a compound where a reality TV series, which is never named but is clearly loosely based on Love Island, is being filmed. She had no memory of arriving at the compound or how she got there. The bedroom had multiple beds but there was only one other person there when Lily woke up: a woman named Jacintha. They introduced themselves and went to look for the other contestants. Lily was surprised to discover that the house had been left in a mess by the previous contestants, with broken furniture and food waste strewn around. Lily and Jacintha went outside and continued to meet the other female contestants: Susie, Eloise, Candice, Becca, Mia, Vanessa, Sarah, and Melissa.
