Summary

In Chapter Twelve, Lily felt guilty about the destruction of much of the compound, and knew that she was partially responsible for breaking something so important to Tom, when breaking anything would have allowed her to complete her task. The contestants became listless, disappointed at the destruction of things they had earned and built over the course of the show. They stopped tending to the house and grounds and things became messy, slowly falling into a state of disrepair. Lily became convinced that Sam would want to leave the show soon and was concerned because she did not want to leave. Unlike Lily, Sam had a fulfilling life back home to return to, whereas all Lily had was a job that she hated and that did not pay her enough money.
