Summary

Chapter 47 continues as Clover reads all the letters. Claudia says she would have gone back to Hugo had he sent the letter asking her to. Still, she says she always loved him as she falls asleep. Sebastian arrives and Clover convinces him to talk to her while he can.

Later that night, Clover and Sebastian talk in Claudia's library. He is grateful for Clover's help, but worries he is not doing enough for his grandma. Then, he apologizes for their argument in Maine and says her job is great for those who need it. He also reveals that he is dating Jessie, and Clover is relieved. However, Selma arrives to take Clover to Claudia's bedside. The woman thanks Clover for relieving the burden of her regrets.
