Chapters 29 and 30 Summary

Bettina shops for a dress and shoes for the trial. She runs into Cape having lunch with Mags. Bettina apologizes to Mags, but Mags says it's too late and she's not surprised if Babs put her up to all of this.

The morning of the trial, Bettina wakes up early in the morning. She goes down to the boathouse to smoke some cigarettes. When she gets back, she calls Babs at the hotel to let her know that she has a better chance of getting through the trial without getting kicked out of school if Babs comes. Babs doesn't say if she'll attend either way when she hangs up the phone.
