Funerals

Marielle and Naomi invoke the friends' funeral pact for themselves when they undergo personal tragedies that shift their lives out of balance and force them to become a new version of themselves. Marielle is the first to trigger the pact, and she does so after her husband divorces her when her daughter is around 17 years old. She met her ex-husband, Max, in an art museum mere weeks after Alec's death years ago, and the two marry and raise a child together shortly thereafter.
