Sur la Vie

Sur la Vie is the name that the friends bestowed upon Naomi's parents' house in Big Sur, where they often spend time and hold a few of the friends' "funerals." They spent a lot of time there in college especially, including in the time right after Alec's death, which is a foundational memory for all of them for several different reasons. Naomi herself opts not to have her funeral there because the inciting event for that funeral is her parents' death, and it reminds her too much of them. Later on, when Jordan is about to die, she talks about how she is thinking about selling the place, but Jordan is adamant that she keep it and that the friends remain in touch.
