Summary

In Chapter 24, Leigh has another memory of her Freshman year. She noticed that her mother’s moods kept shifting, but tried to focus on being normal. One day, she asked Axel what is so great about Leanne, and he said that he likes her before leaving. The two rarely talked at school and Leigh was silent at home. One day when her father did not come home from work, she found her mother curled up alone in bed. When her Dad did come home for Thanksgiving, he shocked Leigh by saying he thought she would grow out of art. Then, Axel got sick and Leigh met Caroline (Caro) who moved into his seat.
