Summary

In Chapter One, Leigh says that her mother is a bird. She remembers coming home from Axel’s house when her father told her something she could not process. It was on a special day for Leigh and Axel that she calls Two Point Fives Day. She imagines kissing him and wonders if that would get rid of Leanne. She blames her hormones for not allowing her to go home as Axel kisses her. She kisses him back and he asks her what color; a special thing between them where colors equal emotions. Unable to answer, Leigh leaves, upsetting him.
