The word quickly spread around Cannery Row about the raffle being both a costume party and an engagement party. The Snow White theme now made it easy for Fauna to dress Suzy up to look like a bride with the excuse that it's a Snow White costume so she wouldn't protest it.

That Saturday, Fauna gets all the girls to give her all her clothing so that she can pick out a Snow White/Bride costume for Suzy to wear. Mabel, one of the girls at the Bear Flag, lets Fauna borrow her beautiful wedding dress that had been passed down to her. Touched that Mabel is letting Suzy wear the dress, Fauna gives her jet earrings to her.
