The Mortal World

Wren lives in an unnamed place in the mortal world as a small child. After being kidnapped by Nore and Jarel, Wren spends time in the faerie world, but she returns to the mortal world by choice once she is free of them. The area where she lives is fairly rural, and she describes living feral in the woods near the home of her former adoptive family. Their home seems to be a typical middle-class home. Wren also describes digging through dumpsters nearby, and she spends a night in a motel with Oak, Tiernan, and Hyacinthe. Though this world is a relatively small part of the novel, it is an important part of Wren's life.
